Small but Expensive, Baby Apparel

Everytime I visit baby's section in store, I amaze with the cuteness and...the price. How does the very small outfit cost more expensive than adult outfit. I found the answer when I participated in workshop about product safety for those who want to sell apparel particularly for baby and children to the US. There are several requirements that has to be fulfilled to ensure the safety of baby apparel. These standart also adopted to Indonesian national standard for baby apparel. First, the material should contain tin no more than 100 ppm. It also applies for accesories attach on the outfit. Second, the material should be anti flame or wont be burnt in certain degree to ensure it will be burn if only small fire catch it. Third, the tie or any kind of string shoould not be placed around the head. The string should be replaced with kind a button or zipper to attach both part. The string should not also place on the waist part cause it may danger the kids if its binded by school bus door. The outfit also should not contain any small accesories that can be possibly eaten by the kids. Those requirements are just a simple summary, there are a lot more if you refers to the real standart.
